Of course, gameplay always matters more but I'm just saying, it helps makes games intriguing. so I do think giving players the choice might be valuable. I still think my preference stands and I do think some players will just ignore the content or find mods around it regardless. I do really respect that work - the story and cutscenes were something I really enjoyed in a couple of my playthroughs of Freedom Planet 1. GalaxyTrail put tons of time and effort into the hub areas, NPCs, world map, and cutscenes so can you really blame them for wanting players to experience that first and foremost? I think having stories or at least lore is important in games like Freedom Planet to help make them more interesting and stand out from other indie games. Whether the story is good or tolerable is a whole different subject but whatever is the case, I think it's sad that some people won't even give it a chance. I just really enjoy the smooth transition from level to level in my platformers.
